Watchmen is set in alternate 1985 and is directed by Zack Snyder. The plot of the film revolves around a group of ex-crime fighters who retired almost 10 years ago but are again to re-group so that they can investigate a murder of one of the members of their group. In the course of investigation they stumble upon a deep conspiracy to change the balance of power.

The characters in the film are introduced one by one and in a well defined manner. The acting in the movie is top class with everyone giving his/her 100%. There is no scope for complaint anywhere. Patrick Wilson as Dan Dreiber is perhaps the best of the lot although Malin Akerman as Silk Spectre II will impress you too. The costumes they wear too match the mood of the film. The smaller characters too have been given due importance and the audience will have no difficulty in recognizing them as the film progresses.

Among the characters, Patrick Wilson is simply brilliant as Dan Dreibreg. Malin Akerman as Silk Spectre II will simply leave you speechless. The suits that they wear have the right effect in this film. The acting leaves no space for criticism.

The special effects in this film deserve special mention. Dr. Manhattan and Mars look awesome and the mask on Rorschach is fun to watch. The film is shot in lots of colors which make it fun to watch. The soundtrack of the film is good and reminds you of that period. These songs might not work in other movies, you might argue, but definitely works here.

Watchmen has become very popular among the audience and it will be a crime to miss this one. All the reviews are singing praise for Zack Snyder for bringing out such a masterpiece after 300.
