Trust Pierre Morrel to deliver an action thriller that will leave you speechless for the duration of the movie. He does just that. The film is very tense and action filled right from the start. Pierre manages to bring out a superlative performance from all the actors including seasoned actors like Liam Neeson.

A divorced ex – CIA operative named Bryan Mills is over protective about her daughter Kim (Maggie Grace). Though he initially refused but ultimately gives in and signs the consent form to allow her daughter to travel to Paris with her friend Amanda. So she arrives in Paris with her friend but is abducted from the apartment where they are staying by a group of unknown young men. Before she gets nabbed she just had the time to give a brief description of the abductors to her father over the cell phone.

The film starts by showing Bryan’s daughter, Kim celebrating her 17th birthday. A little later she tells her father that she wants to go to Paris to spend time with one of her friends. He is reluctant to give her permission initially but eventually gives in. He gives him an international cell phone so that she can be in touch with her father regularly.

Bryan moves into Paris and within a 96 hour timeframe he decides to find his daughter. Bryan is super fast in her search of her daughter and before the kidnappers could blink their eyes, he has already made his next move. He pins down one baddie after and another and inches closer to the placer where Kim has been kept, the last thirty minutes is simply adrenaline pumping and you should not even think going anywhere. The car chases and the fast editing will remind you of Bourne movies and Commando. But this is a far better thriller than any of those. It is sleek and classy.

Bryan moves into Paris and starts looking for his daughter and what follows are world class action scenes and some superb editing. The guy who has done the editing for this film should be given a special award for this film. Some scenes of the movie will remind you of the Bourne movies and the Arnold Schwarzenegger starred Commando. But this a much better film than these two.

Among the star cast, Liam Neeson gives a solid performance and single-handedly carries the fate of the movie on his shoulders. Maggie Grace as Kim also plays a good part and looks very convincing. Katie Cassidy as Kim’s friend is good and very promising. The rest of the crew delivers reasonable performances but does not deserve any special mention.

If you are a fan of action thrillers, you must watch this movie. If you are not then also you need to watch this movie. In a nutshell, the movie is so good that everyone should watch this movie.
