It’s a fact that women like to shop for clothes. They like to try the latest fashions on and search through shops for some great purchases. But if women can’t come to a shop for some reasons, why not let the shop come to them?

Catalogs are great marketing tools. Some women consider shopping a therapy, but if they can’t go to a store, looking at catalogs can also do wonders. The professionally photographed clothes, if set correctly on the pages, can draw even the choosiest of buyers. Catalogs are similar to women’s magazines in a sense that they are both great “reading” materials for women.

The clothes featured in catalogs usually preview the latest styles from a dress shop. Women enjoy the idea that they get a glimpse of what’s to come, allowing them to wear the latest fashions from the clothing company.

So there you have it. Catalogs worked for men then, they still work for men now.

That’s not all. Clothes catalog makes men pay attention. Catalogs about hardware tools, car parts and accessories, and electronic gadgets get men’s attention, true, but so do their physical store equivalent. A man can spend time inside a hardware store or car accessories store, but he won’t linger any longer than necessary inside a clothing store. If a man needs a white shirt, he will go directly to a shop in the mall that sells white shirt and leave as soon as he pays for one. But for a woman, if she needs a white shirt, she will comb the whole shopping center and enter several stores that sell it before she buys one, and most likely, a whole lot of other things]items as well before leaving the mall.

So if a clothing company can bring all its garments to a man through a catalog, he will also be forced to look at the other garments as well, therefore, he may include one or two more buys.

Catalogs are also useful in pulling in new customers. Some people don’t enter a store they are not familiar with. Even if the store has a new line of items that they may interest them, they won’t know about it since they won’t bother to find out. There are also some who want to look around inside a shop but are afraid that they won’t be able to afford the prices.

Those who are not familiar with the store may find something that will interest them through catalogs. The prices, as well as an apparel’s available sizes, colors, materials, and price, are displayed so whatsoever question they might have may easily be answered.

If presented in a correct way, catalogs are a great help for clothing companies. A great catalog should have complete information of the item, including a professionally taken and set image. An appealing layout is also significant. A catalog’s success depends on whether people would want to flip through its pages.
