The Advantages Of Protecting Children With Secure Access

Friday Jan 22, 2010

Schools have become places where children, parents, and teachers often share an uncertainty about the safety of their environment. Academic success is hampered when there is an under-current of fear throughout a campus and the need to create a safe learning environment that has the primary focus of protecting children with secure access has grown.

In an attempt to protect students and children many schools utilize the services of police and guards. Some schools have metal detectors at the entrances of the school doors. Other schools have educators man entries and exits of the campus before and after school and during recess.

The results of having individuals man the entrances and exits of campuses have been less than effective because of the number of students, often up to seven thousand, and size of the campuses that must be protected. Technological advances have now been made that are helping to add an extra layer or protection to students and educators in an unintrusive manner.

When the Secure Access system has been installed near a door it often goes unnoticed. The small box resembles a remote control device that is secured to the door. However, this small device performs a vital function for the facility and students that it protects.

This device provides many benefits to users. The system can be customized to open and lock doors at a specific time. It can be set to scan fingerprints to allow controlled access to a campus. Or, it can be controlled with a key fob scanner or card that will open the door.

The box is not intrusive or invasive. Educators, students, and other individuals who are authorized to be on the campus during school hours are enrolled in the central log and are then again to gain access to any door that is networked to the system. When access is limited to specific doors, the system can easily be adjusted to allow entry to specific areas within the campus. Therefore, students cannot gain access to teacher preparation areas, or the gym when there is not an adult present.

Protecting children with Secure Access as well educators, and parents. When a campus is spread over several buildings, the secure access system can be networked so that all entries are recorded and a report can be printed on command when there is some question about access to an area on the campus.

Protecting your entire family with controlled access for schools as well as controlled access for daycares and churches is in actual fact a very easy task to achieve. More info now available.
